Clarissa S. Brandeis (born 1984) lives with her son in Vienna. She studied Religious Studies and Cultural and Social Anthropology, receiving her doctorate from the University of Vienna in 2016. Prior to this, she was a PhD Visiting Scholar at the University of Manchester. During her studies, she spent a lot of time in South America and the Caribbean conducting ethnographic research and discovered her love for
ethnographic film. During her studies, she worked on various advertising film productions as a production assistant and production manager. She then completed a screenwriting degree at the Hamburg Media School, during which time she made two short films. Since then, she took part at the Drehbuchwerkstatt München/Steiermark, where she won the Script Talent Award in 2022. She is currently working on feature films and series projects.
